We provide hospice care where they live, including medical attention, spiritual support, and necessary equipment. Although it can be a bittersweet time, hospice care allows family and friends to spend time with the patient while we ease their pain. Nancy Dickinson Grief Support For Families Community Home Health & Hospice was started in 1977 by Lorraine Berndt and in 1984, established one of the first hospice facilities in the State of Washington. Berndt believed patients and their families would be better served by community-based care. More than 40 years later, Berndt’s vision is still going strong. A part of that vision included free grief support to families whether or not their loved one was under our hospice care.
